To the Attention of Bicycle and Motorcycle Enthusiasts

According to the "By-law on Amendments to the By-law on Road Traffic" which was published in today's Official Gazette (No. 33067), the protective equipment that cyclists and motorcyclists must wear and the features thereof shall be as follows:
Cyclists: Protective headgear (helmet)
Bicycle passengers: Protective headgear (helmet)
Motorcyclists: Protective headgear (helmet), (if the helmet does not include protective glasses) protective goggles, and protective gloves
Motorcycle passengers: Protective headgear (helmet) and protective gloves
Properties of protective headgears (helmet): Must be fireproof, protect the head against heat, impact, and external influences, must not impair vision and hearing, and must be easy to put on and take off (in accordance with the Economic Commission for Europe ECE R 22 Regulation).
Properties of protective glasses: Must protect the eyes against external influences, must not obstruct vision, can be either tinted or colourless so long as it does not impair normal vision.
Properties of protective gloves: Must comply with the TS EN 13594 standard to protect the hands against traffic accidents or external influences.
